Mt Gambier Drug & Alcohol Funding
The State Labor Opposition has criticised the exclusion of Mt Gambier and the greater South East from the Federal Government’s $20 million drug and alcohol funding. The area was barred from applying to the fund as the South East was not considered ‘an area of need’.
Limestone Coast local and Labor MLC Clare Scriven raised the problem in Parliament and called on the SA Health Minister to lobby the Federal Health Minister for access to the fund.
We all know that our region needs more funding for this issue, we need to demand that the Federal Government changes this unfair decision. Local people need to speaking with one voice on this.
The State Labor Opposition has called on the Federal and State Liberal Government’s to immediately direct funding for drug and alcohol services to the South East.
If you feel strongly about this matter, please sign this petition and share with family and friends to ensure we put as much pressure as possible on the State and Federal Liberal Governments.
