Labor needs your help to stop religious schools discriminating against LGBTIQ students
On Monday 3 December, Labor introduced a Bill to protect LGBTIQ students from discrimination by repealing exemptions for religious schools.
Despite broad support in the Parliament for removal of discrimination against LGBTIQ students, the Government has failed to take action.
Before the Wentworth by-election, Mr Morrison told Australians he would address the issue "urgently".
Unfortunately, the Liberals and the South Australian Centre Alliance party are standing in the way. In December 2018, they voted to delay the Bill and now they're insisting on amendments that would destroy the intent of Labor's Bill.
The amendments would make discrimination against LGBTIQ students worse by allowing direct and indirect discrimination – including allowing teachers to refuse to teach LGBTIQ students.
