Free parking at TTP is essential for thousands of local residents who come to do their shopping, as well as for hundreds of staff who work there.
If mandatory paid parking is introduced at TTP, thousands of north-east residents will be left with an extra bill every time they visit the shops, driving up the cost of living.
Labor listened to the community and introduced a bill to Parliament which will prohibit the introduction of parking fees unless approved by the relevant council.
But the Liberals won't support it.
